Learner Drivers

As a Learner driver, you are guided through the official DSA syllabus that prepares you to take the 'L' Test. In addition, where opportunities and ability allow, I also incorporate elements from advanced driver training to complement a variety of topics.

Pass Plus

Pass Plus pupils are guided through the 6 topics that form this important extension to basic driver training. It is common for the newly qualified driver to use their own vehicle and to commence this additional training programme within a month or so of passing their 'L' test.

Motorway Tuition

Motorway tuition is available to qualified drivers only and is a useful bridge between the 'L' Test and Pass Plus should the pupil be unable to afford the full Pass Plus course. It is also suitable for experienced drivers who may experience difficulty using Motorways or who rarely use them and want to build their confidence. Research shows that as many as 1 in 7 British drivers avoid driving on Motorways, forcing them onto more risky A roads instead. "The AA says five million Britons have "M-phobia". They lack the skills for driving on motorways and spend years avoiding them"

The AA Driving School study says the phenomenon is sending thousands of motorists on to more dangerous A-roads. AA director Simon Douglas said: "Motorways are Britain's most feared roads, with a lost generation of drivers avoiding them completely." - source The Mirror, 24/7/09.

Topics covered include; entry and exit procedures, what to do in the event of a breakdown, how to overtake safely and how to keep a safe separation distance from vehicles in front and behind.

Potential Driving Instructors (PDIs)

Driving Instructor Training is delivered on a one-to-one basis, mainly in-car and can be videoed for viewing afterwards to enhance the learning experience. Please use the link at the start of this paragraph for the full details and relevant website links.

Qualified Driving Instructors (ADIs)

Check Test training is delivered on a one-to-one basis, usually in the instructors own training vehicle. Prior to attending training it is advisable to have considered which topic you intend to cover and with which pupil.  We can have a chat about this beforehand.

CPD opportunities exist all the time.  Please contact me for the latest initiatives in your area.
